ALTERATIONS

The Dress Shop offers an experienced in-house alteration service. This means you can be confident that the staff who pin your dress are actually going to sew it and it will not be leaving the premises to go to an outworker. This ensures we know what has been asked to be done and we can offer the lowest possible prices (e.g. hems from £10). Another advantage is that we have full control over when it will be completed and if you have a last minute alteration we have been known to work through the night to ensure it is completed on time for you.
This alteration service for dresses bought from The Dress Shop is at an additional cost, but you are under no pressure or obligation for them to be altered here.
We also alter any clothes which you have bought from other shops. So if you have some favourite skirts or trousers which you can’t wear because you have lost  weight,  then bring them in and save yourself the expense of buying new outfits. Or if you have purchased clothes from the internet, which in our experience can be very badly fitting, then bring them in and we’ll adjust them.

Due to how busy The Dress Shop is, we ask you please to ring first and make an appointment for any alterations.
